Late at Night. Tom's hospital room at the army base in England.
Tom: Who’s there?
Angel Mueller: Are you ready?
Tom: Ready for what?
Angel Mueller: Ready to go to heaven?
Tom: (Laughing) Ahhh… No.
Angel Mueller: No?
Tom: Seriously?
Angel Mueller: Yes!
Tom: No, not today.
Angel Mueller: I’m sorry, I don’t understand.
Tom: I’m not going anywhere with you. I have things to do, someone to see –
Angel Mueller: Oh, he’s got things to do, people to see. Well, in that case, let’s just put the movement of the universe on hold.
Tom: Are you sassing me? Who are you?
Angel Mueller: Angel Mueller, Angel of Death.
Tom: (disbelieving) Really?!
Angel Mueller: I’m an Angel of Death. Really.
Tom: Come on! Prove it.
Angel Mueller: I was in that cockpit with you. Your plane was going down. You were miles from land. I heard everything that was said. That girl. The sunset. I am an Angel of Death.
Tom: (impressed) Really?
Angel Mueller: In training.
Tom: I see. Do you have proof of identification?
Angel Mueller: What? No! I’m an Angel –
Tom: …of Death!
Angel Mueller: I am.
Tom: Says you.
Angel Mueller: Says God!
Tom: I’d like to hear that from him then.
Angel Mueller: You’d like to—? He doesn’t—! That’s not the way—! You are—! You–! I should—! No! No. Absolutely not. This is most irregular.
Tom: I should say it is.
Angel Mueller: Look! YOU MUST COME WITH ME NOW!
Tom: Sorry, no.
Angel Mueller: Sorry, you must.
Tom: Sorry, why must I?
Angel Mueller: Because you’re dead and I’m here to take you to the other side.
Tom: Huh. I’m not dead.
Angel Mueller: Pardon?

BETWEEN TWO WORLDS
is a celebration of love and homage to the Hollywood romances of a bygone era. This romantic-comedy-drama is set in England during WWII and tells the story of an American pilot shot down over the Channel without a parachute. He awakens on the coast of England … believing himself dead. Or is he? While falling in love with his nurse, he is interrupted by a bumbling Angle of Death and shuttled to a heavenly tribunal in order to defend his life. Can love alone save this man’s hopes and dreams?
WALLIS KNOT
produces new plays that strive to recreate the classics by combing multiple genres with dance, music, multimedia, and the occasional puppet. Our past shows include: Seeing Andre Gide, The Dracula Journals, Dance With Me Harker, Late to the Republique, Hamlet and now Between Two Worlds. Our ensemble joined Roschman Dance last summer as Resident Artists at NYU and have since been exploring an interdisciplinary collaboration into dance-theater. We worked on cross training company members, on preparing our next new project, Puppet Twist, an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist with puppets and aerialist puppethandlers, and on completing a spoken word recording project that includes classic literary texts as well as original texts by company member.

ROSCHMAN DANCE
is a modern dance company founded by Sean Roschman. Their work includes Cirque Du Soleil’s 2009 dance celebration-happening in NYC’s Times Square, a performance at WAXworks, and a recent full-length dance production, The Rite of Spring Street, at the CSV Center’s Flamboyan Theater. They have toured Sean’ original modern works throughout the northeast. Sean has also created dances for Eileen Connolly’s productions of Hamlet, Macbeth, The Duchess of Malfi and Between Two Worlds.
