MEET THE AUTHOR Series

Wallis Knot loves meeting new writers, and introducing them to a new audience.

We began our series by presenting an evening with Edgar Award winning playwright JOSEPH GOODRICH, a New Dramatist alumnus.

Joe has two plays published by Samuel French (with cover art by Wallis Knot Artistic Director Eileen Connolly) -- Panic and Smoke and Mirrors -- both available on-line at www.samuelfrench.com

The evening began with a cocktail party in honor of the playwright, where audience members could purchase a copy of the plays and have them signed by the author, and concluded with performances of select scenes from Joe's plays, acted by Wallis Knot company members and guest artists Erik Liberman (Broadway: LoveMusik, Fiddler on the Roof) and David Del Rio (Nickleodeon: The Troop, Broadway: In the Heights).

CLOSED OUT OF TOWN Play Reading Series

Wallis Knot company member Joseph Goodrich uses his finely honed detective skills to seek out little theatrical gems that are beautifully written but sadly forgotten -- plays that were fully produced and toured the countryside, but never made it to opening night on Broadway and were therefore never published.

His first discovery was a surprising mystery play by the writing team responsible for the popular Ellery Queen series of novels. Joe wrote to the estate and secured permission for Wallis Knot to revive the play for one night in New York City. Wallis Knot company members performed Danger Men Working and discovered what we always suspected...that, alas, many wonderful plays closed out of town.

Coming Soon:

A Staged Reading of S.N. Behrman's forgotten masterpiece Let Me Hear the Music

a once in a lifetime opportunity!
