MARCH 2007: Tintagel, England
DECEMBER 2006: Back to Rome, Italy! We returned to Rome for Christmas. Above: our apartment on Via dei Coronari; my photographic mission was to capture as many Madonnas as possible, which was quite the task considering they adorn almost every building; naturally I made a pilgrimage to my favorite Caravaggios; Below: dinner at our favorite spot near the Pantheon; the life-size Nativity at the Vatican on Christmas Eve...nice, but I want a job upgrading it for next year...I'm thinking live animals! And would it kill them to put in a song and dance number?
DECEMBER 2005 and again SEPTEMBER 2006: Amarillo, Texas to see the new Globe News Center for the Performing Arts designed by Michael Connolly and Malcolm Holzman of Holzman Moss Architects in New York City. (For more info and photos go to: http://www.amarillo.com/globenewscenter/ . There's also a wonderful video tour of the building led by Mike!)
MARCH 2005: We were off to Rome, Italy, to begin collecting photos, film footage and research for a new multi-media theatrical production based on the life of 17th century Italian painter Michelangelo Merisi de Caravaggio.
(Above Center: Santas on the Grande Canal !! Left: one of the many appearances of the San Marco winged lion -- reminds me of the Island of Misfit Toys!)
ABOVE: Left: There aren't many tourists during Christmas, so the water is remarkably still; Right: we stroll our neighborhood on our first night in town and enjoy the decorations.)
ABOVE: Mike brings home the christmas tree! |
