Wallis Knot

WALLIS KNOT is an artists collective centered around an experimental theatre company, founded in 2003 by Eileen Connolly, dedicated to producing inventive new plays that celebrate the classics with boldness and originality. Eileen Connolly directs the theatrical productions with a collision of multiple genres within each piece, combining performance styles, film projections, dance, musical underscoring, languages, and the occasional puppet.

We have performed at Soho's prestigious HERE arts center and the New York International Fringe Festival, as well as the Connelly Theatre, Hudson Guild Theatre, New Actors Workshop and American Theatre of Actors. We have worked on inter-disciplinary collaborations with Roschman Dance for the past few years, striving to develop new performance techniques while creating new performance pieces in a theatre-dance hybrid style.

We are currently focused on brancing out into film, publishing, and audiobooks. Also on the calendar this year are several educational workshops to share the experimental performance techniques developed by Connie Rotunda and Eileen Connolly in the field of actor voice and movement.

These two weekend class offerings will be run by Eileen Connolly and Connie Rotunda and will explore the role of voice and body in performance. Also, plans are under way for a SUMMER REHEARSAL WORKSHOP in New Paltz, New York, to develop a new performance piece. Connie Rotunda has been hired to run a Feldenkrais and Viewpoints brush-up, and Eileen Connolly is writing a new script for the company. Auditions will be held later in the spring. We'll get the dates to you as soon as possible in case you're interested in participating!
